The Green Blue nominated for World Sailing 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award

On 25 October 2018, it was published that the joint environmental initiative of British Marine and The RYA The Green Blue has been shortlisted by World Sailing for the World Sailing 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award.

The World Sailing 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award celebrates the effective execution or ongoing delivery of high-impact, highly-replicable sustainability initiatives, aligned to the World Sailing Sustainability Agenda 2030.

National Federations, manufacturers, sailing clubs, event organising committees and sailing related organisations were among the 28 high calibre applicants.

The Green Blue is one of four finalists. The winner will be announced at the 2018 World Sailing Awards, set to be held on Tuesday 30 October 2018 in Sarasota, Florida, USA.

A judging panel consisting of World Sailing’s Sustainability Commission, World Sailing’s Sustainability Programme Manager, Dan Reading, World Sailing Vice-President, Jan Dawson, and Rob MacMillan, Co-Founder and Advisor of 11th Hour Racing, assessed each nomination before voting on the shortlist.
