PSP Logistics celebrated business success at TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show

TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show proved to be very successful for Frank Dixie, managing director of PSP, the UK’s fastest-growing freight forwarder, after he announced it had been appointed the UK booking partner for Starclass.

In addition, to extend and help achieve its ambitious plans for the expansion of PSP, the company has opened a new facility, PSP Dorset, at Bournemouth Airport.

The UK partnership with Starclass means freight agents, brokers, dealers or boat builders can now book on the service through PSP for UK orders. Starclass calls at Poole to load the yachts, where PSP has established a close working relationship with the Harbour Commission.

The Starclass service runs two vessels carrying yachts between Northern European ports and the Mediterranean and finally Turkey, then sailing northbound returning sail and motor yachts to Europe.

Frank said: “In this competitive market we have looked to offer something different to the other services by calling at Alcudia, Mallorca, Nice and Corfu as well as the regular ports, such as Genoa, Split and Istanbul.

“We have been working with Starclass for many years, but our partnership with them means we have been given the opportunity to plan and make decisions regarding the routes and rates. Our appointment gives Starclass more time to concentrate on expanding its European agencies. It’s truly a win, win situation for both our companies.”

Jan te Siepe, managing director at Starlass Yacht Transport, said: “Having been associated with PSP for so many years, we appreciate how much they share the same values as ourselves. We have every confidence this new partnership will be of huge value to both companies.”

The addition of a third office, PSP Dorset, at Bournemouth Airport, is part of the company’s previously reported planned expansion to open additional offices in the UK to be more accessible to its customers in key identified places.

Frank continued: “Our new facility has given PSP the opportunity to extend our services to include packing, shipping and storage in Dorset for the first time.

“We are certainly on track to achieve our committed growth to become a £20m company by 2026. I am very proud of all that the team at PSP has achieved. We are a brave company and we have the leadership team to take us to achieve these ambitious goals.”
